Monstat: Retail turnover grows 

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Compared with last year's corresponding period, retail turnover in Montenegro increased by 7.5 percent in current and 4.8 percent in constant prices in the first quarter.

 

In the first quarter, retail turnover was lower compared with the last quarter of 22025, by 17.6 percent in current and 17.8 percent in constant prices. 

 

The Statistical Office stated in a press release that, in the first quarter, the retail turnover in motor fuel increased 8.7 percent year on year and decreased by 6.2percent compared to Q4 2025.

 

“In the first quarter, the retail turnover in food saw a year-on-year increase of 7.2 percent, while it dropped by 18.3 percent compared with last year's fourth quarter,” the press release reads.

 

Retail turnover in pharmaceutical and cosmetic products saw a 10.6 percent year-on-year increase in the first quarter, while it declined by 7 percent compared with the previous quarter.

                

Retail turnover in other non-food products increased by 6.8 percent year on year in the first quarter, while it was 21.2 percent lower than in Q4 2025.
